Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

I just came from the Garden center a little after 9 am on a day in the 40's. I wasn't even sure the garden part would be open yet. I saw a gentleman named "Doug" and asked him if it was possible to get 6 bags of cypress mulch. He assured me it was. I asked if I had to go in the store to pay, but he told me the little booth was open. I went to the booth to pay. While the young lady was still looking up the price of my mulch "Doug" came up with my six bags on a cart and had to wait while we completed the purchase. He then followed me out to my car, and with a wonderful attitude, loaded them in my car. I'm 64 years old and this might quite possibly be the best customer service I have ever received anywhere. Lowes you have a gem with Doug and I'd like to thank him very much. He has certainly started my day out wonderfully. How refreshing.
